Welcome to John Keats. Whether you are a pupil, a parent or carer, when you walk through our doors, you’ll find this is a different kind of school.
As a pupil, you will find:
A place where you can learn by trying new experiences, such as growing and cooking your own food, or exploring outdoors
A school where the lessons are based on the things you like to do. You can be creative, imaginative, energetic, active, or all of these!
Most of all, somewhere you’ll have lots of support to help you learn, develop and grow.
As a parent or carer, you will find:
John Keats is a school where our first thought is always what’s best for the children.
A new school with highly experienced teaching staff who want to work with you to shape the school’s future. This includes our Headteacher, Nick Tildesley, who previously raised John Donne school in Peckham from ‘Requiring improvement’ to ‘Outstanding’.
Current parents love our approach to learning. We encourage pupils to have a say in our curriculum and design lessons around their interests. For example, we have a range of fun and creative approaches to Phonics and Maths – for parents, as well as pupils!
A small, but growing school that runs independently as part of the successful Communitas Trust. This enables us to find innovative ways for our pupils to interact with other children as we grow. For instance, Year 4, 5 and 6 pupils from the School Council at our sister school, John Donne, visit regularly to ‘buddy up’ with John Keats pupils.
Unusually for a primary school, we have our own dedicated Pastoral Manager. This means we can support you in a wide range of areas, from helping with children’s behaviour, to mental health, housing or immigration issues.
A school that works closely with a number of local community groups to offer pupils a variety of different activities, such as art, poetry and even a visit from the local Fire Brigade!
A Breakfast Club, an After-School Club and even a Toddler Stay and Play group every Monday.
In short, you’ll find a school that offers pupils a wide range of enjoyable and exciting experiences that develop their skills and allow them to be the best they can be in a supportive and fun atmosphere.
So, arrange to come and visit us – we think you and your children will like what you find.
At John Keats, we’re open to all possibilities that will improve our pupils’ education. It’s all about what’s best for the children.
We aim for all children to achieve significantly above national average at KS2
